We are a Brass Band from Brescia, consisting solely of brass instruments and 2 percussionists. The project began in 2018 as an attempt at marital reconciliation: a dear friend and guitarist entrusted the task of creating a small ensemble of brass and percussion to the talented vibraphonist and arranger Olmo Chittò, for an afternoon serenade .

The serenade was intended to reinvigorate a strained relationship. Of course, it didn’t work out as planned, but the notes of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” sowed the seed for a new love: the Rusty Brass Band. After two years, the band solidified its lineup, varying from a larger group of 12 members, to a “van-sized” touring ensemble and several smaller configurations with a fixed drum set and a rotating roster of musicians.
