Published by Emme Record Label, “Voci che resistono al vento” is an enchanting debut album by the classically and contemporarily trained flutist and composer, Serena Marchi. Leading the Serenismar Ensemble, this project is a rich tapestry where jazz music intertwines with Dolomite legends, giving voice to female figures from tradition and myth.
Despite historical and religious evolutions that have overshadowed women’s primal roles, Marchi’s music seeks to illuminate and honor the enduring elements of matriarchal culture. “Voci che resistono al vento” is not just Marchi’s first work but also a versatile project, performed in both an extended version with winds and a more intimate quintet format, showcasing the diverse and dynamic range of her musical vision.
