Olmo Chittò - Vibraphone, Modular Synth, Percussion
Riccardo Barba - Fender Rhodes, Piano, Norde Electro, Synthesizers

Electric Keys Experiment (EKE) is a duo project by Olmo Chittò and Riccardo Barba lately joined by Paolo Zanaglio at the rhythmic (Drums, Alesis, Pads) and by Matteo Melchiori at the visual and light design. Embarking on their collaborative journey since their first meeting in 2012, Chittò and Barba have delved into an eclectic array of musical styles. Their shared passion ranges from the swinging rhythms of jazz to the intricate nuances of contemporary music. This fusion of genres and continuous exploration in sound has culminated in the creation of an Electric Keys Experiment. The project, a forward-looking endeavor, serves as a mosaic of traditional jazz, European and American contemporary music, seamlessly intertwined with the pulse of modern electronic movements.

In this musical odyssey, the vibraphone and Fender Rhodes engage in a harmonious dialogue, symbolizing the interplay of nature with technology, tradition with modernity. This conversation between the old and the new is reflected in the compositions, which traverse a spectrum from jazz and contemporary music to free improvisation and, occasionally, electronic patterns that border on minimalism

Collaborating closely with Stefano Castagna of Ritmo&Blu Records, EKE endeavors to craft a unique sonic universe. Their commitment to maintaining coherence with the musical principles that guide their artistic exploration is evident in every note and rhythm. The ‘Electric Keys Experiment’ album stands as a testament to their innovative spirit and dedication to creating a sound that is both timeless and contemporary, a true reflection of their musical journey and exploration.

In 2023, coinciding with the appointment of Brescia and Bergamo as the Italian Capitals of Culture, a track by EKE appeared in the compilation selected by Rebirth Records and dedicated to the electronic scene of Brescia. Rebirth also produced a backstage video with interviews of all the artists involved in “Brixia Sonora”.
